GOAL EXTENDED!

Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our initial goal of $5,000 and unlocked an additional $500 from the Director of Engineering, Robert Nagel!  Let's not stop there! We have extended our goal and are challenging the Carthage Community to help us raise $10,000. With your support we can rise to this challenge and further our mission to empower engineering students and help them succeed in their academic journey.

Engineering at Carthage:

Students enrolled in the Engineering programs learn how to design, analyze, and test devices and processes that solve human problems. Through the programs, students learn through real projects partnered with real stakeholders to address the real needs of our community. To do this, our engineering students rely on having access to cutting-edge technology and tools to enhance their education and prepare them to enter the Industry 4.0 workforce with confidence upon graduation.

Upon declaring as an engineer, Carthage issues each engineering student a high-performance laptop computer. Through this Engineering Computer Program, students have access to a computer that meets the computational needs of the engineering programs for the duration of a student's studies. Students enrolled in the engineering programs pay a computer fee each of eight semesters, and at the conclusion of eight semesters, ownership of computers is transferred to the engineering students. These computers are purchased in bulk, but there are still significant costs involved.  The Engineering Students Computer Fund is designed to help students offset these costs and make obtaining a degree in Engineering more accessible.

Why are donations necessary?

Engineering students face a financial hurdle of $250 per semester, or $2,000 for their entire degree program, just to access the necessary computers for their studies.

36% of first-year engineering students are Pell Grant eligible. Even a donation of $80 can offset $10 per student each semester!

Thanks To Our Recent Donors!
