History of the Alumni Association Scholarship
The Carthage Alumni Council voted to establish an Alumni Association Scholarship at its December 1997 meeting. This scholarship began as a $500 scholarship awarded exclusively to the children or grandchildren of Carthage alumni. This funding was in addition to the $1,000 grant given to all children and grandchildren of Carthage graduates. The first Alumni Association Scholarships were awarded to one member of each class in the Fall of 1999.
The Alumni Association Scholarship Today
The Alumni Association Scholarship continues to be a vital resource for supporting Carthage's legacy students— those who are direct relatives of Carthage graduates. Currently, three scholarships of $2,000 each are awarded annually, helping ease the financial burden of higher education for those deserving students. This scholarship is made possible through the generosity of alumni contributions and event donations, showcasing the strength and impact of the Carthage alumni community.
